2026 SCHEDULE
Sticky Sap!
Friday March 13
Saturday March 14
Amber is fossilized tree sap! Before it fossilized, sometimes bugs would get stuck in the sap before it got hard, and inside the amber is a perfect fossil of an insect. Today, we’ll be making our own sap to stick bugs in!
(Come dressed to potentially get messy)
Blow, Blow Volcano!
Friday April 10
Saturday April 11
Volcanoes are such a cool part of the world, and we have some sleeping right here in Colorado! While they aren’t going to erupt, the ones we’re going to make today will! Using watercolor paints and the air from our lungs, we’re going to create our own exploding volcanoes!
Whirlybirds in Flight!
Friday May 8
Saturday May 9
Did you know that different plants grow different shaped seeds or seed pods to help their seeds survive? Some seeds can even fly – or at least, fall with style to land farther away from the tree. We find seeds and plant fossils at Dinosaur Ridge, so let’s learn how these whirling seed pods move by making paper whirlybirds!
Dinosaur Track Suncatchers!
Friday June 12
Saturday June 13
Sometimes the best way to find new dinosaur tracks is to go out at different times of the day. As the sun crosses the sky, it changes the shadows and colors on the ground! We’re going to create a fun suncatcher with tissue paper and dinosaur track cutouts to hang in our windows!
We are starting a new online registration system for the sessions from August through December, so registration for those will come in July! Questions? Erin.LaCount@dinoridge.org
